I got a complete set of Tundra hood solar panel from TakSolar and installed it. Actually besides Tundra, TakSolar sell different variants of solar panels like Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser. You can go to their website to check.
The process of installing the panel was easy, just getting the vinyl decal in place was the hardest thing because I had to get them to line up, it was actually pretty easy to install the panel. The only thing i am unhappy is that i think they should add 3m tape in it. (In the latest packaging, 3m VHB tape is already included).
I drove the truck for a couple of miles around town yesterday and some distance on the highway today and nothing happened to it after installation. Whether while I’m driving the car or parked, we can see from the APP that it’s been charging the alternator. I think it’s helpful, especially in the hot summer when I need a small fridge in the truck , Put some water or other beverages in the refrigerator, this solar panel is very suitable for charging the battery, the refrigerator can continue to run.
Solar panels are very cool, especially if you have a lot of running or outdoor activities, you can add it to your hood, I believe it will help you a lot.
